The holiday apartment is located on the south side of the Ticino Alps far above the River Ticino surrounded by countless italian palm trees. Right in front of the unit's entrance beyond the terrace you find the pool. You can enjoy the View either when swimming in the pool or when drinking a glass of local wine while sitting on the terrace at the front of the apartment.

The space

The apartment is basically a two-room flat. In the main room you find the kitchen, the seating area as well as the double bed. The backroom contains a bunk bed which sleeps two people. The bathroom with the shower and the toilet is in the back of the apartment. This place is part of a bigger building with five units in total. The top apartment is used by my parents. The come down here very often, especially when the weather is cloudy in the northern part of Switzerland. Do not miss the chance to talk to them when the are there. My father started to produce his own cheese and meat with his flock of sheep after he got retired. One of the flats is rented by friends of the family and the other apartments are meant to be used by family and friends. Since the Swiss rather work then going on a vacation the place is not being used every day. Thus, we like to rent it out to guest who appreciate this place..

Guest access

You may use the pool as often as you want. Please just cover it at night before you hit your bed or the city. Beneath the pergola next to the pool you find the fire pit. You are more than welcome to have your barbecue here.

Meine Eltern entfliehen oft dem trüben Wetter im Norden und verbringen ein paar Tage in der Sonne in der Casa Scerina. Sie sind schon etwas älter aber äusserst interessant in einer Unterhaltung. Mein Vater hat kurz nach seiner Pension ein paar Milchschafe von seinem alten Nachbar übernommen. Heute produziert er seinen eigenen Schafkäse, Joghurt und herrliches Schaffleisch. Zusammen mit den Bauern im Dorf hat er angefangen seine und ihre Produkte lokal zu vermarkten und umgeht so die grossen Verteiler wie Coop und Migros.

Neighborhood overview

Das Panorama ist wunderschön. Von der Casa Scerina aus kannst du den Südhang dieser Alpenkette wunderbar zu Fuss erkunden. Es gibt einige Attraktionen in der Nähe die Du bestimmt gerne erkunden möchtest. Der Lago Maggiore ist lediglich 15 Fahrminuten weit entfernt. Das Verzascatal liegt auch ganz in der Nähe und eignet sich hervorragend für einen Tagesausflug.

Getting around

Da sich Casa Scerina weit oben über dem Dörfechen Sementina befindet und nicht mit den Bus erreichbar ist, ist die Anfahrt mit dem Wagen fast zwingend. Für die sportlichen wäre eine mögliche Alternative die Anreise mit Zug und Bike.
